Sea Swimming – Blue Journey

May 3

As part of Blue Space Highland’s Blue Journeys, SeaSoul Nairn is offering a unique series of sessions designed to help you improve your sea swimming skills.

Blue Journeys is a self-driven pathway into blue space activities, with clear targets and milestones to help you track your progress — all while supporting your wellbeing along the way.

These sessions are expected to fill quickly.

If you’d like to take part, please follow the link to sign up:bluespacehighland.org/blue-journeys/

1/ May 3rd 12pm – 3pm – Body Positioning
We start by exploring how your body sits in the water. When your body is balanced and relaxed, you move through the water with much less effort and swimming starts to feel smoother and more natural.

2/ June 6th 2pm – 5pm – Breathing
Breathing is often the key to feeling calm and comfortable in the water. We look at simple breathing techniques that help you find a steady rhythm and build confidence while swimming.

3/ July 12th 9am – 12pm Kick
Your kick helps support balance and forward movement, but it doesn’t need to be big or tiring. We focus on a relaxed, gentle kick that works with the rest of your stroke rather than fighting against it.

4/ August 14th 10am – 1pm – Arm Stroke
We look at how your arms move through the water and how a smoother, more efficient stroke can help you travel further with less effort.

5/ Sept 13th 10.30am – 1.30pm – Bringing It All Together
Once we’ve explored each element, we begin to connect them so your stroke starts to flow more naturally and swimming becomes more relaxed and enjoyable.

6/ October 11th 10am – 1pm  – Your Goal
At the end of the session you’ll swim a distance that feels right for you. That might be 25 metres, 100 metres or even 1000 metres. The goal is entirely yours and meets you wherever you are on your swimming journey. It doesn’t even need to be distance, it can just be that you can swim more comfortably in the sea while repeating the previous session.

It’s your Blue Journey.
