For a trial period we are accepting self-referrals. You will need to decide for yourself that the Blue Space approach is right for you. We would normally expect a medical professional to assist you with that decision but we recognise that not everyone feels their problems merit contacting their surgery. To self-refer please read through the guidance notes below and then complete the online form. We will contact you as per the process on our referral page thereafter.
Please read these guidance notes before making your referral
The referral document should be completed and submitted to Blue Space Highland. Receipt of the referral document will enable access to a short term intervention and / or support by water based activity (or activities). These activities are intended to promote wellbeing and recovery through access to water sports coaching/Wellness sessions to enhance wellbeing and promote recovery from stress and distress.
The main point of contact between BSH and the health service will be the Community Link Worker (CLW). The CLW will make the initial referral. Other Health Professionals will liaise with the Community Link Worker as per normal working activity. BSH will liaise with CLWs on a regular basis to streamline referrals. Self referrals will be accepted at limited times when advised by Blue Space Highland.
The referral should be completed in full with as much detail as possible to enable the charity to signpost the individual to the correct Provider. Incomplete referrals, or those with inadequate information, will be rejected. Please see the ‘Our mission’ to ensure you are referring the individual for the correct support. Before making this referral you should be comfortable that the individual will not pose a threat to the safety of any other person taking part in activities and coaches.
