Art4wellbeing Session

Creative Art sessions draw on the natural environment as an inspiration and a tool
for art making, the sessions encourage us to slow down and notice what is around
us.
• Sessions are not about artistic merit but about encouraging a connection with our
creativity to support our wellbeing, we believe everyone has creative abilities.
• Using natural materials and the natural landscape can help us reconnect with
memories and stories of our life, increasing opportunities for self-expression.
• In our sessions self-reflection is key and this will be built into all parts of the
session, helping to gain greater understanding of our own needs & strengthen our
confidence.
• The opportunity to work cohesively as a group can help us to look at new
perspectives, share ideas, draw on the differences between us and build a sense of
connection between one another.
• In these sessions the process (journey) is as important as the artmaking we
produce.
• We use creative journals as a way of capturing our experiences, these can include
artwork, photographs, writing or poetry – full instruction will be provided.
• We work with a person-centred approach offering, kindness, encouragement, and
respect to all. Our sessions operate as a non-judgemental space, where
confidentiality is paramount.
• It is also important to remember that for some, the natural environment can bring
back painful memories and not feel a safe place, being mindful about this is vital in
supporting those who may feel this way and in helping them to move forward.
• Sessions take a holistic approach to the person, with focus around both physical
and emotional wellbeing, celebrating each individual’s needs.
